![]() I felt let down that no one told me of the "limited" menu offerings that day. Shortly thereafter, a younger Asian couple arrived, but never made it to a table, as the male got into a "heated" discussion with several supervisors and/or staff, and then they too left without eating. Incidentally, while I was there, a group of 7-9 seniors (all Asian) arrived, were seated, but then left when they discovered that there would be no dim sum on the menu that day. New ownership or management? Not at all like the "old" Chang's that I remembered. I asked an employee if they had discontinued dim sum, but was told that there was an issue from the health department related to cooking food! This was NOT the Chang's that I had grown to love over the last 15 years, although I must admit that I had not been there in the past 2 years. I asked for the bill, paid it, and left the restaurant. I kept watching the kitchen for more rolling carts but none appeared. The waiter came over and offered to get us some pork buns and coconut buns that were warm. A woman got up to leave from the next table to ours and commented to us, "You guys are going to be waiting a long time to get served," Eventually, one woman wheeled over a cart with an assortment of items, but admitted that they were all cold. A waiter came to the table to take our drink order and then brought us ice water and a pot of tea, but there was an unusual absence of rolling food carts with the hot selections. Our table top had cracks in the surface and should have been a signal of a lack of care or upkeep. I walked in at around 1 in the afternoon and found the restaurant less than half full. Passing through Las Vegas on Columbus Day, I could not wait to get to Chang's for some great Dim Sum. ![]()
